Pretty In Pink Diaper Shower

On Saturday, I hosted a diaper shower for a friend at my house. To get the word out, I made these invitations. My friend, Renee, also helped with the shower and found the cute poem online that I used for the invites. I kept them simple and sweet to go along with the diaper theme. I matted the the poem onto pink textured card stock and then stamped pretty in pink polka dots onto the white. A small pink felt diaper complete with tiny safety pin rounded out the invitation.

To make the felt diapers just cut out small triangles, fold in the corners(like a diaper) and pin. I think these turned out very cute, but were a bit time consuming.

The poem for the invite reads:
The changing table and diaper bag have something that they share,
When you reach inside of each-a diaper should be there!
Since Hanna and Michael are parents-to-be and will be doing a lot of "changes,"
Please join us as we shower them with diapers- in all the size ranges!

For the shower game we played Baby Memory. I love this little game. It's so cute! I actually think this game was played at my shower when I was pregnant with my son. That was 10 years ago....wow!

For this game, you are supposed to match different baby phrases and you get a prize if you get a match. The prize is a coordinating candy bar or candy. Be sure to explain that to your guests or they might not get this game. For example, if you match the phrases "Baby girl" your prize would be a Baby Ruth candy bar, "epidural" would be Lifesavers. I used 14 different phrases so I had 28 phrases all together on my board. I wrote them onto foam board and covered each up with a post it note with the numbers on them. Our guests thought this was fun and different. Come back tomorrow for some delicious recipes for the food we served.

You can get the list of phrases and candy I used for the game below!

baby girl- Baby Ruth

triplets-3 Musketeers

Sweet Birthday Invites

My daughter turned the big 2 on Monday! Happy Birthday! Along with my family, we celebrated with a "sweet" party on Saturday. I made up some colorful and sweet invitations to let everyone know the details. I thought it was a fun way to get the word out. My trusty SU! scalloped edge punch never lets me down. Love those scallops! I printed out a cute little poem and party details on my computer and then attached a small lollipop to the top with my tacky tape. I think these are my favorite invitations I've made just because they're so colorful and "sweet," just like her party was! I'll share more of the party tomorrow.

Trent's Lego Birthday Party

Although Trent's b'day is not until Thursday, we celebrated with a Lego party on Saturday. Lots of excited little boys and a couple girls joined us for some Lego fun for his 10th b'day. After his party, Trent told us that it was the best. He was so happy that so many of his friends were able to come. It made his day. He had a blast playing with his presents that his very generous friends gave him. He added quite a few more Lego's to his collection.

For the invitation, I took a picture of some of Trent's Lego creations that he picked out and copied the pictures at Wal-Mart for $.25 a piece and then glued them onto green card stock that had all the party info printed on the back. This was a great idea that I found on the site Like Merchant Ships. I thought it was simple, yet different. Trent thought it was "cool," too.

Tomorrow I'll share what we munched on at the party which includes two delicious dip recipes
and also a fun and easy way to dress up a bottle of water.

A Fancy Nancy Celebration!

First, a belated Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there! I hope your day was great.Mine was! ( I don't know why everything is underlined. I tried to fix it).

On Saturday, we celebrated Laci's 6th birthday by gettin' fancy with a Fancy Nancy party. We had 7 little girls that looked fabulous in their fancy dresses. I hope all of them had a magnificent time. (Like my fancy words!)

To invite the girls to the party, I sent out these handmade invitations. Quite simple ones. I guess I could have made them a bit fancier. Although, I did add a little bling with stick-on rhinestones . I was happy with the outcome.

Here are the little ladies at their fanciest.

Well, this is not the greatest picture of the table. Oh well. To make our table fancy for the b'day girl, we used a pink and purple color scheme with dainty doily place mats, plastic goblets, tiered glass cake stands for the petit fours and two round vases of beautiful white roses. We also scattered some purple gem stones down the middle for some added bling. Laci loved it! I'll share more party details with you tomorrow.

You're Invited

We just got back last night from visiting my family a couple hours north of us. As always, we had a good time with family and friends while we were there. It was so good to see everyone. I also had a "girl" birthday party for my mom and sister. Just their girlfriends and the ladies in the family. I hope everyone had a fun time laughing, eating and celebrating. Since I like to craft, cook and entertain, it was fun for me to do.
I thought I would share some of my party ideas and details with you. These are the invitations I sent out a couple weeks ahead of time to our guests. I was happy with the way they turned out. The yellow and brown color scheme is a favorite of mine. They were pretty simple invitations to make using my computer, a few different colors of card stock and a cute flower stamp. Inexpensive, as well, which is always nice. Come back and visit during the week for more party pics and details.
