Delicious Bacon & Eggs............Or Is It?

Don't those bacon and eggs look tasty!? ...........GOTCHA!! They look like the real thing don't they!
I thought these faux bacon and eggs would make a cute April fool's prank for the kids. I asked Trent if he would like some bacon and eggs this morning with his cereal and he said sure. He was a little surprised when I brought him this on a plate. He just looked at me with a really big smile on his face and then said,"Very funny, mom!" Laci must have heard us talking about these scrumptious bacon and eggs while she was in the other room because she asked if she could have some, not knowing what I had given Trent. When she got her bacon and eggs she just laughed and said,"what is this." They all thought this version was tasty, but a bit sweet for bacon and eggs. They are also very simple to make. Just line up 3 pretzel sticks and melt a little white chocolate or vanilla almond bark. Put a small dollop of the white chocolate on the center of the pretzels. Put this into the fridge to get set somewhat and then top with a yellow M&M. You're bacon and eggs are ready!

I wish I could say this was my original idea, but I can't take credit for it. I found this recently while blog hopping over at Our Treasured Home. Thanks for the idea! We loved it!

Look What I Can Do With Veggie Straws

Hello all! Okay, hello to the three of you who read my blog! Ha! I have been busy the past couple weeks so the blog has been neglected. I did manage to make a few changes recently, so I hope you like them. I do!! .......Now onto this sweet(and spunky) little girl up there. A couple weeks ago Ivy was eating one of our favorites with her lunch, Veggie Straws. I was doing my thing in the living room when she came in to get me. "Mom, look what I did. Come see. Look. My name." This little cutie had used her remaining Veggie Straws to spell out her name.......well, almost. She didn't have enough left for the "Y," but she did great with the "I" and "V." I guess I hadn't expected her to know how to actually spell out her name yet. We help her write her name and show her the letters, but I didn't know she grasped it yet. She does!! So those yummy Veggie Straws aren't just for eating, you can spell with them too!

Yummy!

A Funny For Your Monday

I just thought I'd share a funny thing that happened a couple weeks ago with my little Ivy. Everyone needs a laugh to get their Monday going, right! So, Ivy and I were on the way back from Montgomery, but before we left I had given her a pack of Smarties candy to hold in her hand and eat. It was a few days after Halloween, so I had put a pack of those in my purse and told her she could have them on the way home. No worries, right.-- Wrong! We are driving down the road and I hear, "Look mom. Look." Only the way Ivy can say it. So I peek around for a second to look and what do I see.Well, I see a Smartie pushed up each nostril. Yep. That's right. A blue one and a pink one. I had to laugh a little on the inside. She's just sitting there so proud of herself showing me what she had done. I think she might push them further up her nose, so I pulled over to get them out much to her dislike. (This part is kinda gross) When I go to get them out they start to dissolve because they are wet from her nose, but I did manage to get them out and take the other 4 that she still had. Didn't want to risk that one again. It was funny, yet a little scary. This was a new for me. None of my other kids had ever stuck things up their nose. Leave it to little miss Ivy. She's a spunky one. As for the Smarties, their will be no more eating them in the car. Just in case you kow.

The Mommy

Yep! That's me. Ivy, our soon to be two year old, has officially dubbed me "The Mommy." She will run to her dad and say,"I want the mommy." Wow! I sound like a super hero. It makes me want to throw on my mommy cape... more like apron and conquer the world. Okay, maybe just those mommy things, like kissing those boo boos, helping hurt feelings, making a mean pb&j, and tucking kids in the bed like only a mommy can do. I'm sure dishes, laundry, cooking, etc. will be no problem for "The Mommy" either.( The mommy sure is glad she gets help from the daddy.) I'm sure "The Mommy" title will wear off soon, but that's okay. I'm happy just being plain old mommy to all of my kids!

Masterpiece

You are looking at Laci's masterpiece! She was so cute on Thanksgiving morning. She came to me in the kitchen and said,"Mom, can I take a picture of my bed. I just have to take a picture of my bed. Mom, please......... it's a masterpiece." After a brief giggle to myself, I told her to get the camera and take a picture of her masterpiece. I have to say, her bed did look very nice. She's usually really good about making her bed. Sometimes I do have to give her a little nudge, but that morning she made her bed without being asked to and then gave it that extra little touch with her flower pillow and stuffed animals. She was so excited about her "work of art." Maybe one day soon I will actually get her room painted and decorated to go with her masterpiece.

Thanksgiving Funnies

Okay, so this is not what I had planned on sharing with you today, but since I still do not have access to my photos I thought some Thanksgiving humor would be fun. Some of the jokes are kinda corny, but I hope they make you smile. Maybe even a laugh. We all need a good laugh these days. Have a great day! Remember to vote for your favorite Thanksgiving dish on the side bar poll.

* What key has legs and can't open doors?
--A turKEY

*If the pilgrims were alive today, what would they be most famous for?
--Their age.

*What kind of music did the pilgrims like?
--Plymouth rock

*Knock knock!
Who's there?
Norma Lee.
Norma Lee who?
Norma Lee I don't eat this much.

* A lady was picking through the frozen turkeys at the grocery store, but couldn't find one big enough for her family. She asked the stock boy, "Do these turkeys get any bigger?"
The stock boy answered,"No ma'am they're dead."

What Have You Done To Our Child???

Yes. This is Ivy with a slightly different look than usual. Here she is sporting the slicked back greaser look. Now, I , of course, think she's gorgeous hair slicked or not, but I would have preferred --NO GEL IN THE HAIR! So, you may be asking yourself,"Who's the culprit?". Well, we were walking down the hall at church Sunday and my hairdresser and friend, Tonya was looking at Ivy and commenting on her hair while William was holding Ivy. Then she sarcastically said, "You could put some gel in it." It's true that I can't put bows or clips or, well, anything in her hair because she pulls it out and puts it in her mouth, but we just tuck it behind her ear and make do. William had joked with me all that evening saying he was going to put gel in her hair, but I didn't think he would. Then, who do I see coming out of the bathroom with big smiles on their faces but Will and Ivy. My words,"Oh no you did not!" Will's words, "Oh yes I did."She looked like she could have been a greaser from the movie The Outsiders. I have to say it was pretty funny and it did keep her hair out of her face, but we're not going to be adopting this new style anytime soon. I'm pretty sure he just wanted to see the look on MY face. After we had our laughs,Will did get to give her a bath and wash out all the icky stickiness. I think I'll hide the gel just in case.

Peeps for my Peeps

Okay, okay. I know it's corny, but when I spotted these Halloween cat Peeps at Target I couldn't resist. I'm not a big Peeps fan, but I thought it would be fun to share them with the young women I teach at church(16-18 yr. old). Who, by the way, are a great, special group of girls that always listen and participate in class. For those who don't know, peeps is a slang word for friends. I'm always joking around with my baby sitter, who is in my class, and asking her if she's been out with her peeps. She just looks at me like--okay, you really don't need to say that. It's so funny! Sunday, I found out that my peeps-ha! ha!- like cocoa cat Peeps and they really don't mind if I use one of "their" words. I hope they will always choose their friends and their words wisely.
