A Give Away and A Crafty Decision
First up today, I want to tell you about an awesome give away from Jaime over at Caddywumpus. She is giving away a very nice pink rose ring from Royal Princess. It is a great ring! Go by her blog and check it out.(I tried to upload the picture of the ring, but couldn't get it to work) Be sure to look around her fun blog while you're there. You can enter her give away just by commenting. Don't miss it!
I also wanted some of your opinions on a crafty decision I need to make. You see, my birthday is coming up in March and I told my husband I would really like to get a Cuttlebug die-cut machine. I have a few friends that have them and they really like theirs. But Stampin' Up offers the Big Shot die-cut machine and it seems really good too. It is more expensive than the Cuttlebug, but I'm not sure exactly what extra things it can do. I know from looking at the SUcatalog, that it has some super cute dies to make little purses and all sorts of things. More research is needed, I guess! I just don't know if I should fork out the extra money or if theCuttlebug would suffice. If you have either one of these machines, please leave me a comment and let me know what you like or don't like about them. It's really not a grand decision, I know, it's just crafty stuff, but to this crafter, it's important that I get the most for my money and spend it well. Thanks for your help!

I have seen the Big Shot in action and it is nice, but it's big and expensive. I've never used the Cuddlebug. Big Daddy gave me a small portable cutter called the Slice (www.whyslice.com). I LOVE it. It takes little computer chips but there seem to be alot of designs on one chip ($40 each, I think). Hobby Lobby and Archivers carries it.
Hi Missy! I wish I could help you out with this decision...I have no experience with either. My sister has the Cricut and Sizzix machines. The Cricut looks awesome and the Sizzix seems good for smaller things. Happy {early} Birthday! I'll have to look into a die cut machine for a birthday gift possibility for me...thanks for the idea!
I have a Sizlit's machine which is kind of like a Cuttlebug, although I think a Cuttlebug will cut larger dies from seeing the picture. Both cut wafter thin dies it looks to me. These are nice because they are small to store and major crafting stores carry them so you can use a 40% off coupon when they aren't already on sale.
That being said, I think that a Big Shot can be used with wafter thin dies with the use of adaptors. Big Shot is by the same company as Sizlits: Sizzix. I'd go for the Big Shot even though it is more because it'll give you more varitey. You can buy the larger dies that can cut through chip board and fabric like felt. I use mine all the time to cut through fabric for crafting projects so I'm able to use it for more than just scrapbooking.
Missy, you won the ring on my blog. Congrats! I need you to send me your full name and address and I should be able to have it shipped today. Thanks so much.

I have the old red sizzix. I love it because it can cut out bigger things AND the dies are steel so you can cut felt, chipboard, etc.
But if you only plan on using paper go with the cheaper cuttlebug.
