Craft Challenge- Halloween Decor

Today is Heidi at Blue Eyed Blessing's Monthly Craft Challenge. The theme this month was Halloween or Fall , so I want to share what I came up with. I found this cute little white iron tree back around Easter at Pier 1 for half off and picked it up. I thought it would be great for many occasions or holidays, so I made a "happy" Halloween tree. I also mod podged some "BOO" letters. Can't wait to see other's creations!

For my happy little tree, I used small glass ornaments found at Hobby Lobby. I filled some with orange tissue paper and then painted white and black polka dots on them. Some of the ornaments have black spiders in them. I just used the spider rings and cut off the ring part and kind of folded them in half and stuck them into the ornament. It looks kinda creepy close up. I thought my son would really appreciate that!

The BOO letters are simply mod podged with different scrapbook papers and embellished with different ribbons and an orange spider.

EEK!

Hi Missy,

What a great idea to make a Halloween tree and it was GENIUS to use the clear ornament bulbs to make it festive...love the polka dots! I also love how simple the BOO letters are. My style for sure and how creative to add that one little spider onto the web paper. It's the little things, you know? ;) I have the words JOY all ready to go for Christmas to do something similar. Thanks for joining in the fun! I can always count on you to be a part of the craft challenges. Blessings, friend!

Those are cute! I like how you filled the glass balls with Halloween stuff! Cool idea!

You BOO letters are so fun. Thank goodness it's just an orange spider! I know if it was a black one that I would keep thinking it was real, even though I put it there! LOL!

I love your projects Missy! I have a little Halloween tree, it's like a table top Christmas tree only black and I've been at a loss at how to decorate it. You've given me some ideas! Also really like the BOO letters, I have some of that same paper so good choices! Love the idea of using the plastic spider on them. I am also sorry I haven't been by as much lately, I got your message from awhile ago. Summer has been busy and hectic for everyone, so of course I understand if you'll return the favor! I am sure with cooler weather everyone will be inside more and back on their computers blog hopping:)
